How to Join our Shared Kitchen
STEP 1: Apply for Membership
Fill out this application so we can learn more about your business needs. It’s okay if you’re not ready to join the kitchen or if you have a lot of questions, this information helps us get you connected to the right resources.
STEP 2: Join us for a Tour of the Kitchen
We host drop-in tours of the Kitchen every 2nd Saturday from 10-11:30am and every 4th Thursday from 5-6:30pm. Drop by any time during those hours and see what we’re all about!
STEP 3: Gather Required Documents
So you’re ready to join? Great! Let’s get started! The following documentation is required to become a Real Good Kitchen member:
Business Licenses issued by the City of Knoxville & Knox County
Certificate of Business Liability Insurance for at least $1M per occurrence/$2M Aggregate. Real Good Kitchen and Magnolia Partners LLC must be listed as “Additional Insureds.”
We recommend Food Liability Insurance Program (FLIP) for affordable business liability insurance for most food businesses. When you purchase a policy through this link we will added to the policy as required, and a Certificate of Insurance will be sent right to our inbox. FLIP Policies start at $299 and include free and unlimited additional insureds.
Proof of ServSafe Food Handler’s Certification
We will be happy to assist you in the process of obtaining these documents. Don’t hesitate to reach out with questions!
STEP 4: Sign the Contract
Pick your Membership Package and sign the contract and some other onboarding documents. Then pay first 1/2 of deposit ($100—second 1/2 is payable with first full month’s membership package. Total deposit is $200.)
STEP 5: Schedule an Orientation
Schedule and complete your orientation with our kitchen team. This is where we can help you with your costs and pricing and other business questions to make sure you’re ready to hit the ground running. We’ll also make sure you know how to book time in the kitchen, how to follow proper sanitation and food handling practices and use our commercial equipment. You will learn about operating in a shared kitchen, and get your keys for 24/7 access!
